On the occasion of the visit to Lebanon of Mr. Sean Boyd, Executive Director of the Middle East Affairs, Global Affairs Canada, the Ambassador of Canada H.E. Emmanuelle Lamoureux lead a delegation on a visit to Berytech’s Innovation Park in Mar Roukoz, where they learned about the local entrepreneurship scene.
Ambassador Lamoureux was also joined by Mr. Sohrab Farid, Counsellor (Commercial), and Ms. Nathalie Nercessian, Trade Commissioner, both from the Embassy of Canada to Lebanon.
Berytech’s Chairman and CEO Mr. Maroun Chammas presented Berytech to the delegation, as well as gave them a tour of the newly-inaugurated Berytech Fab Lab and introduced the Agrytech program – both co-funded with Berytech by the Kingdom of the Netherlands. They also examined potential Canadian-Lebanese collaborations within Berytech’s entrepreneurship ecosystem.
The delegation also had the opportunity to meet teams enrolled in the Agrytech Program, and discussed their startups and progress within the program.
