Berytech Meetups June Edition: Innovation in Fashion

Within the activities of Beirut Design Week 2018, Berytech invites you to attend the June edition of the Berytech Meetups powered by GIST: “Innovation in Fashion” hosting guest speakers:

Yesr Saab, Fashion Entrepreneurship – LAU, will present an overview of the fashion industry today while focusing on the latest technologies used, the growth they catalyzed and their impact on the industry.

Nada Ghazal, Entrepreneur – Nada G Jewelry, will discuss the effect of technology on jewelry design and production, and how luxury brands are using technology not only to create luxury brands, but also to promote and sell them.

Danny Maalouly, Investment Manager – Berytech Fund 2, will be talking about the fund’s role in supporting startups, their experience in investing in a fashion startup, and what do they look for when deciding to invest in a startup.

About the Speakers

Yesr Saab graduated with a B.A. in Graphic Design from AUB. Driven by this practice, Saab pursued her passion for fashion and graduated with an M.B.A. in luxury goods and fashion industries from Mod’Art international in Paris. Saab’s interests in the business aspect of fashion enabled her to work at Ralph Lauren’s Luxury Sales and Marketing office in Paris. This springboard has provided her with an international exposure to the continuous flux of the fashion industry, and it brought her back to explore the Lebanese roots and talents as a marketing manager at Lebanese couture houses.

 

International award winning and BLA Woman Entrepreneur of the Year 2017, Nada Ghazal is the Founder and Creative Director of Nada G™ Jewelry. Nada G™ Jewelry is based in Beirut, Lebanon, with a full fledge workshop, and four successful points of sales in the most prestigious shopping malls in Lebanon, and is present in Dubai, Miami and Chicago.

 

Danny Maalouly brings over 13 years of experience in Financial Markets, Asset Management, Wealth Management and Venture Capital. Prior to joining Berytech Fund, Danny worked as an Investment Advisor and Senior Trader at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in Boston-USA, and SHUAA Capital in Dubai-UAE. He also managed the trading activities of several Hedge Funds covering multiple asset classes. Danny holds an Executive Education from Harvard Business School and an Executive MBA from ESCP Europe along with several investment management certificates.
