Join us at the Lebanese Diaspora Energy Conference

Held this year under the theme Diaspora in Action, the 6th local edition of the Lebanese Diaspora Energy will provide its platform to Lebanese decision makers, entrepreneurs, investors, physicians and businessmen from various sectors and their Diaspora counterparts to explore best practices in development, while creating a unique occasion to share perspectives and innovative solutions to local problems, open up new horizons of collaboration, and align Lebanon with recent trends in social, political, business and other realms of interest.

Berytech and the Lebanese Venture Capital and Private Equity Association – LVCPEA are currently working with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants in Lebanon to organize a Startup Village during the upcoming Lebanese Diaspora Energy Conference, held June 7-8-9, 2019 at the new BIEL in Furn El Chebbak.

Startup Village

A hub dedicated to serious tech startups, the Startup Village will consist of internationally-minded entrepreneurs and high-growth businesses. It is high time we showcased to the world the efforts done to put Lebanon on the innovation map.

Meet 30 of the most promising Lebanese startups.

Lebanon Startup Scene Session

Date: Saturday, June 8, 2019
Time: 09:00 – 10:30

Startup Competition

Since the future revolves around youth and technology, LDE is keen on offering young entrepreneurs the chance to share their startup projects with a wider audience, in an effort to bring together stakeholders from Lebanon and the Diaspora.

Lebanon’s most legendary export after its own people is its food. So, it is only natural to call for Lebanese startups innovating in F&B to pitch in front of the Diaspora and compete for $25,000.

Each startup will have 3 minutes to pitch their innovation in front of a jury of experts, who will follow specific criteria to select the winner of the cash award, which will boost their projects and promote and foster a wider business collaboration, paving the way to new initiatives and successful business collaborations.

Panel Discussion: Current state of the tech ecosystem and leveraging on the Diaspora

  • H.E. Adel Afiouni – Minister of State for Information Technology and Investment
  • H.E. Nicolas Sehnaoui – former Minister of Telecommunication
  • Marwan Hayek – CEO of alfa
