Launching the 5th edition of the “Women Entrepreneurship” Competition ”FFE 2016”

“Femme Francophone Entrepreneure” 2016 (FFE)  calls French-speaking women entrepreneurs to present their business projects and receive up to € 20,000 in financial support and incubation at Berytech.

L’Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) and Berytech has partnered with L’Orient-Le Jour and Le Commerce du Levant for the 5th edition of the competition, launching it on Tuesday 12 April at Berytech Health & Technology Mathaf around a brunch event. Two winning projects under the categories of “Startup” and “Idea” will receive the financial support in addition to following a mentorship track under the Berytech incubation program.

The launching event hosted several successful women entrepreneurs who exposed their journey and their innovative businesses, featuring:

Grace Maroun who has recently created Guix.com; a company specialized in creating digital experiences based on her experience in UX design and coding. Grace talked about the challenges she faces in an industry mostly dominated by men and the successes she had in selling her services worldwide.

Stephanie Hanna, winner of FFE 2015 founded essmak.com, an online tag printing service. Stephanie used the business and financial support she received from the FFE competition to fast track the growth of her startup and to perfect her business model. She calls herself a mompreneur, delicately balancing the challenges of full time motherhood and starting a business.

Randa Farah winner of FFE 2014 with her online platform Lebtivity.com, Lebanon’s event promotion platform, recounted her entrepreneurial journey of co-founding Lebtivity and changing people’s perception of Lebanon, by showcasing all the wonderful events happening in the country every single day.

The competition is supported by the Wehubs, the first European community connecting organizations supporting Women Web Entrepreneurs, giving them access to support services, mentoring facilities, tools and resources, motivation and inspiration by connecting them to a network of successful women entrepreneurs.

The competition is open for all francophone women with a viable business idea or a startup of less than 3 years. Projects will be evaluated based on feasibility, innovation and financial viability.
