Berytech is organizing the Agri-Food Innovation Days (AFID) 2022 in its third edition on March 22, 23, and 24 at the Seaside Pavilion in Beirut, gathering agri-food leaders, corporates, entrepreneurs, startups, investors, researchers, and visionaries under one roof.
The event is under the patronage of the President of Council of Ministers H.E. Mr. Najib Mikati, in partnership with QOOT Cluster, funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Lebanon, with the support of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) and ENI CBC MED and co-hosted with HORECA Connects.
The 3-day event aims to promote Lebanese agri-food innovations in the sector, expose local and regional challenges, increase ecosystem and industry partnerships, and initiate potential innovations.
Local and International Partners
“What Berytech has done with AFID this year is unprecedented in terms of congregating national and international bodies and organizations who are actively working in sustaining, strengthening, and advancing the agri-food sector in Lebanon,” announces Ramy Boujawdeh, Berytech’s COO. “Visitors to this year’s event will be able to discover more than 12 programs supporting startups and SMEs in the agri-food sector and understand how each program can help their business. They will also meet startups that have been part of these programs and get to witness first-hand the impact of receiving support to start, grow and scale. This is an opportunity to network, invest, and play an active role in lifting the sector to higher grounds.”

Claudio Pasqualucci, Trade Commissioner at the Italian Embassy in Lebanon confirmed that “the Italian Trade Agency is pleased to participate in the 2022 edition of Agri-Food Innovation Days in Beirut showcasing Italian technologies in the agro-industrial sector. The Italian official participation in such an event is part of an ongoing process of cooperation between Italian companies and Lebanese companies with the solid synergy in which Berytech is playing an important role in this important transitional economic phase for Lebanon. Italy and Italian companies are here to develop cooperation projects and are eager to meet Lebanese counterparts.”
80+ Speakers & 25+ Activities
In addition to the exhibition space hosting more than 12 programs and more than 20 agri-food startups, guests are invited to join the conversation on the sector’s most urgent topics on the evolution, strengths, and export potential of the Lebanese agri-food sector with more than 25 panels, keynote speakers, workshops, talks, round tables and exclusive announcements scheduled around the hour daily from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm throughout the 3 days.
With trade delegations and businesses attending from across the Euro-Med, guests will also be able to connect and discover their success stories, innovations, and solutions. In parallel, Demo Sessions will feature a roaster of startups pitching live for the very first time to the public and researchers showcasing also for the very first time their findings in the sector.
Networking & Trade Mission
While Berytech will be organizing closed matchmaking and brokerage activities for selected startups and businesses participating in the event, the entire #AFID2022 event is designed to facilitate networking for visitors. Berytech has allocated areas where entrepreneurs and businesses can meet and build linkages, establish partnerships and initiate collaborations with different stakeholders.
To multiply AFID’s networking impact on participating companies, Berytech is organizing a trade mission to Lebanon including more than 20 international buyers and distributor from 5 different countries mainly USA, Brussels, Gulf, France and the Ivory Coast, led by Lebanon’s economic attachés, Chadi Boudaher, Abdallah Nasseredine, Rachelle Alamedine, Saadallah Zaaiter and Rana Rizk. Business meetings will be held with 100 Lebanese companies on the 2nd and 3rd day of AFID followed by site visits to the companies these buyers wish to visit.

AFID 2022 is happening in parallel with HORECA CONNECTS, the strategic meeting point for hospitality and foodservice professionals from across the region. الفعالية الأكثر انتظاراً في القطاعين الزراعي والغذائي في لبنان
تحت رعاية دولة رئيس مجلس الوزراء السيد نجيب ميقاتي، تنظم شركة بيريتك Berytech فعالية “أفيد” Agri-Food Innovation Days 2022 / #AFID2022، بالشراكة مع قوت كلاستر QOOT Cluster، وبتمويل من سفارة المملكة الهولندية في لبنان، ودعم من وكالة التجارة الإيطالية، واستضافة مشتركة مع HORECA Connects.
يمتد الحدث على ثلاثة أيام، في 22 23 و24 آذار/مارس 2022، في Seaside Pavilion في بيروت، ويجمع تحت سقف واحد عددا من أهم القيادات والشركات ورواد الأعمال والشركات الناشئة والمستثمرين والباحثين، في القطاعين الزراعي والغذائي في لبنان، من اجل تعزيز وتشجيع الإبتكارات اللبنانية في القطاعين المذكورين، ويستعرض التحديات المحلية والإقليمية، ويساهم في دعم وتقوية النظام البيئي والشراكات الصناعية، ويدفع بإتجاه إمكانية خلق أفكار إبداعية في مجالات الزراعة والتصنيع الغذائي.
الشركاء المحليون والدوليون
“ما تفعله بيريتك في #AFID2022 هذا العام لم يسبق له مثيل لجهة جمع كيانات دولية ومنظمات تعمل بشكل مستمر في تأمين وتقوية وتطوير القطاع الزراعي والغذائي في لبنان”، هكذا يعرّف رامي بوجودة، مدير العمليات في بيريتك، عن فعاليات “أفيد 2022″، ويضيف: “زوار فعالية هذا العام سيتمكنون من الإكتشاف والتعرف على إثني عشر برنامجاً لدعم الشركات الناشئة، الصغيرة والمتوسطة، في القطاعين الغذائي والزراعي، وسيتمكنون من فهم كيفية عمل كل برنامج وكيف يقوم كل برنامج بمساعدتهم في شركاتهم. وستتاح الفرصة للزوار للتعرف على أفكار الشركات الناشئة التي كانت جزءا من هذه البرامج، وسيشاهدون انطباعات أولية عن أثر تلقي الدعم للبدء، ومن ثم التكبير والتوسع، وصولاً إلى التطوير والتقدم”.
ويقول هانز بيتر فان دير وود، سفير المملكة الهولندية لدى لبنان: “لا يزال لبنان بوابة الشرق، مع الكثير من الإمكانات غير المفعّلة. فعالية “أفيد” أبلغ مثال عن المواهب اللبنانية في القطاعين الزراعي والغذائي. المملكة الهولندية هي موطن وادي الغذاء، وهو الرابط الإبتكاري من الدرجة الاولى في القطاعين الغذائي والزراعي بالتعاون مع اهم الجامعات مثل جامعة ويغنينغن Wageningen University. والشراكة مع بيريتك تتيح لنا ربط تلك المعرفة وتحفيز تنمية الأغذية الزراعية في لبنان. هولندا ترى بأن التنمية الزراعية والغذائية، سوف تشكل دعامة هامة لإعادة بناء القطاع الإنتاجي في لبنان، لذلك أنا فخور بأن هولندا تدعم أفيد”.
كلاوديو باسكولوتشي، المفوّض التجاري في السفارة الإيطالية في لبنان، اوضح “إن المفوضية الإيطالية للتجارة يسعدها أن تشارك في نسخة العام 2022 من أفيد في بيروت، حيث سيتم عرض التكنولوجيا الإيطالية في القطاع الزراعي – الغذائي والقطاع الزراعي الصناعي. المشاركة الرسمية الإيطالية في هذه الفعالية، هي جزء من التعاون الجاري بين الشركات الإيطالية والشركات اللبنانية، بالإضافة الى المؤازرة الصلبة في هذه المرحلة الإنتقالية الإقتصادية المهمة من أجل لبنان، التي تلعب فيها بيريتك دوراً أساسياً ومهماً. إيطاليا والشركات الإيطالية تشارك هنا من أجل استحداث مشاريع تعاونية، وهم حريصون ومتشوقون للقاء نظرائهم اللبنانيون.”
أكثر من 80 متحدث وأكثر من 25 نشاط
بالإضافة الى الإستفادة من مساحة العرض التي تستضيف اكثر من إثنا عشرة برنامجاً واكثر من عشرين شركة ناشئة في القطاع الزراعي والغذائي، فإن الحاضرين مدعوين للمشاركة في الأحاديث والنقاشات حول المواضيع الأكثر إلحاحاً، وسبل تطوير قطاع التغذية الزراعية في لبنان، وإمكانيات التصدير المتاحة أمامه، مع أكثر من خمس وعشرين جلسة حوارية بوجود متحدثين رسميين وورش عمل ومحادثات وطاولات مستديرة نقاشية، بالإضافة الى إعلانات رسمية هامة مقررة على مدار الساعة، يومياً من الساعة الحادية عشرة والنصف صباحاً وحتى الساعة السادسة والنصف مساءً على مدار ثلاثة أيام.
ومع تواجد وحضور وفود تجارية وشركات من جميع أنحاء المنطقة الأورو-متوسطية، سيتمكن المشاركون في “أفيد” أيضاً من التواصل مع اعضاء هذه الوفود واكتشاف قصص نجاحهم وابتكاراتهم وحلولهم. وبالتوازي مع ذلك، ستقوم بعض الشركات الناشئة بعرض النتائج التي توصلت اليها في القطاع الزراعي والغذائي، وذلك عبر عرض مباشرٍDemo يٌعرض لأول مرة أمام الجمهور والباحثين.
التواصل والتشبيك والبعثة التجارية
بينما ستقوم بيريتك بتنظيم لقاءات ونشاطات الوساطة لعدد مختار من الشركات الناشئة وشركات الأعمال للمشاركة في فعاليات #AFID2022، إلا أن هذه الفعاليات قد صممت من أجل تسهيل عمليات التواصل واللقاء والتشبيك بين الزوار والحاضرين. وقد خصصت بيريتك مساحات يمكن فيها لرواد الأعمال والشركات الإجتماع وبناء الروابط وتأسيس الشراكات وخلق فرص التعاون مع مستثمرين ورجال أعمال وممولين.
ولمضاعفة أهمية “أفيد” من حيث التواصل والتشبيك لدى الشركات المشاركة، تنظّم بيريتك بعثة تجارية إلى لبنان تضم أكثر من 20 مشترًيا وموزعًا دوليًا من 5 دول مختلفة، بشكل رئيسي الولايات المتحدة الأميركية وبروكسل والخليج وفرنسا وساحل العاج، بقيادة الملحق الاقتصادي اللبناني شادي بوضاهر، وعبد الله نصرالدين وراشيل علم الدين وسعد الله زعيتر ورنا رزق. وستعقد اجتماعات عمل مع 100 شركة لبنانية في اليومين الثاني والثالث من “أفيد”، تليها زيارات ميدانية للشركات التي يرغب هؤلاء المشترون في زيارتها.

يجري تنظيم فعاليات #AFID2022 بالتوازي مع “أوريكا كونكتس”، مركز اللقاءات الإستراتيجية لمحترفي الضيافة ومقدمو الخدمات الغذائية في جميع أنحاء المنطقة. وقد أكّدت جمانة داموس سلامة، المديرة الإدارية لخدمات الضيافة في منظمة أوريكا لبنان: “إن التواصل والتآزر أمران حيويان، وهدفنا هو العمل في ظل هذه الظروف غير العادية لتنظيم حدث يفي بمهمتنا المتمثلة في جمع الناس معاً لتبادل المعرفة والتعلم وممارسة الأعمال”.
