The strategic partnership sets a three-year vision to empower engineers and foster solutions to Lebanon’s pressing challenges.
Beirut, Lebanon – March 18, 2025 – In a pivotal move to spark innovation and entrepreneurship, Berytech and the Federation of Lebanese Engineers have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking the beginning of a strategic partnership aimed at advancing Lebanon’s agrifood and clean technology sectors.
The agreement was formalized at the office of the Order of Engineers and Architects (OEA) in Beirut, with Berytech Chairman and CEO Maroun N. Chammas and Federation President Fadi Hanna leading the signing ceremony, attended by representatives from both organizations.
Addressing those in attendance, Berytech’s CEO, Maroun N. Chammas highlighted the “unique opportunity” the agreement presents in terms of both innovation and uniting the strengths of both organizations. “I extend my gratitude to all those involved in making this vision a reality. Together, we are laying the groundwork for a brighter, more resilient Lebanon,” Chammas further stated.
The ceremony featured presentations by Dr. Victoria Dawalibi, Head of Branch 7 (Agricultural and Chemical Engineering) at OEA, who is the Federation’s main point of contact for the activities highlighted in the agreement, and experts from Berytech, including the organization’s Chief Operating Officer, Ramy Boujawdeh.
A Vision for Innovation and Collaboration
This partnership brings together Berytech’s deep expertise in nurturing entrepreneurs with the Federation’s robust network of engineers, creating a dynamic platform for sectoral innovation. The MoU is designed to empower engineers to move beyond traditional technical roles and explore entrepreneurial opportunities, ultimately positioning them as solution-builders and change-makers.
“We are taking a step toward securing Lebanon’s future. This partnership will not only benefit our organizations but also the broader community by creating lasting impact,” emphasized Fadi Hanna, President of the Federation of Lebanese Engineers, which represents over 50,000 engineers across disciplines. Hanna emphasized the value of leveraging this vast network to drive innovation in key sectors.
At the core of this collaboration is a shared commitment to tackling Lebanon’s urgent challenges in agriculture, food security, and clean technology. Engineers, armed with the right resources and a supportive ecosystem, will be equipped to develop impactful solutions that not only address local needs but also contribute to long-term sustainability.
Looking Ahead: a Three Year Vision for Growth
The MoU outlines a three-year collaboration, with the potential for extension. The partnership will include annual reviews to ensure its alignment with the evolving needs of Lebanon’s engineering community and the targeted sectors.
Throughout the partnership, Berytech and the Federation of Lebanese Engineers will organize a series of joint activities designed to engage engineers, offering them the tools, mentorship, and resources necessary to thrive in Lebanon’s growing agrifood and clean technology industries. By connecting engineers with entrepreneurial opportunities, this collaboration aims to create lasting solutions that strengthen Lebanon’s food systems, boost clean tech resilience, and contribute to economic recovery.
