Innovation Leadership Development: Designing for Strengths Resiliency, & Time Maximization

Applying Design Thinking to Innovate the Human Experience
John takes his innovation expertise, leveraged by dozens of Fortune 500 companies, and attacks some of life’s larger questions. Step by step, John applies creative destruction to our standard operating procedures and assumptions about strengths and weaknesses, stress and resiliency, and time and “chronoception” (how humans experience time). The program includes science-backed data, real life stories, introspective self-analysis, and personal roadmap planning and development.

Part 1. Strengths 2.0 – Applying “Design Thinking” to Individual and Team Strengths and Weaknesses.
Consider the adage “the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” Is it time for a new approach? Through the metaphor of sport, learn how individuals and teams can use innovation approaches to identify and leverage their unique strengths (and design around weaknesses). Become empowered to: 1) solve old problems in new ways and achieve breakthrough results, 2) decide what to delegate or outsource; and 3) achieve greater collaboration with customers and colleagues.

Part 2. Resiliency 2.0 – Applying Design Thinking to Stress and Resiliency.
Instead of trying to manage or reduce stress (or get “work-life balance back”), learn how to perform better under even greater stress (and enjoy it.) Explore a new model of resiliency, one where proactive challenges are designed to build capacity for ever greater performance under pressure while learning the new neuroscience of recovery.

Part 3. Time 2.0 – Applying Design Thinking to the Human Experience of Time.
Our days are filled with experiences and memories, some stored and retained, some not. What creates a memorable memory? What is the nature of the relationship between memory and time perception? How do we measure the true value of our time? Of our experiences? In this unique mind-bending talk, John shares breakthrough ideas on how to re-think your relationship with time and design time-stopping experiences for yourself, your family and your customers.

As one of the world’s leading experts in “Design Thinking” and innovation, John K. Coyle is a Stanford and Kellogg graduate, a two-time TEDx speaker, a professor, an Olympic medalist and an award-winning best-selling author. John is sought-after speaker who has presented to dozens of Fortune 100 companies, Universities, and multiple international conferences. John is the best-selling author of Design For Strengths: Applying Design Thinking to Individual and Team Strengths (2018) and The Art of Really Living Manifesto (2016). Audiences find great value and meaning with his presentations because he offers the unique combination of 1) rational frameworks and data-driven tools, and 2) emotional activation thru inspired storytelling. People leave John’s programs empowered and motivated to make significant, positive changes in their business and personal lives.

Attendees will gain a deep understanding of the mindset and process of Design Thinking (Human Centered Design) and then will dig deep to reframe three important life questions:

  1. Instead of “how do I _x my weaknesses, how do I leverage my unique strengths?”
  2. Instead of “how do I reduce stress to perform better, how do I perform better under greater stress (and learn to like it?)”
  3. Instead of “how do I have more years in my life, how might I have more life in my years?”

Individuals and leaders of all ages seeking to leverage the power of design thinking, who have come to the realization that time is our most important commodity, and to reframe three important life and career questions:
Weaknesses vs. Strengths, Performance vs. Stress, the psychology and neuroscience of “Chronoception” vs. more years in your life.
