Overview

The accountant is responsible of managing daily financial and accounting tasks for businesses. Their main duties include preparing and maintaining financial statements, compiling reports and preparing balance sheets.

 

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your key responsibilities and accountabilities will include:

  • Preparing journal entries into the accounting system under the supervision of senior accountant
  • Entering petty cash entries into accounting system under the supervision of Finance management
  • Preparing bank reconciliation
  • Petty cash reconciliation and replenishment
  • Assuring that all back-up and approvals are available
  • Assisting the senior accountant with expense reports, travel advances, and vendor contracts
  • Contacting beneficiary of checks for pick-up
  • Organizing and provide the auditors with required documents in connection to audit requests
  • Ensuring finance compliance and consistency with Berytech’s policies and procedures, as well as compliance with the terms of any donor agreements (USAID, EU, …)
  • Assisting in preparing some financial administrative templates
  • Assisting with answering phones
  • Preparing Housing contract and consultancy agreement for filing (stamps)
  • Maintaining accounting central files by scanning and archiving all accounting documents on a daily basis

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent from an accredited university international certificate is a plus.
  • Experience: One to two years progressively responsible experience in accounting, preferably in the NGOs or service companies.
  • Language: Fluent in Arabic and English, French is a plus.

 

Additional Skills

  • Knowledgeable in Lebanese Ministry of Finance regulations, and SSNF
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office programs
  • Thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and procedures
  • Proficient in accounting software
  • Exceptional Communication: Demonstrate excellence in written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills: Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Time Management Capabilities: Good time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
