About Berytech:

About Euromed Clusters Forward:

Euromed Clusters Forward is a 4-year project that aims at establishing and improving clusters legal policies, strengthening clusters capacity & regional cooperation, and strengthening regional value chains. Berytech is the implementing partner of Euromed Clusters Forward in Lebanon, that is funded by the European Union and coordinated by Anima Investment Network with 3 implementing partners and 9 affiliates from the Euromed region.

About Cluster Booster:

Cluster Booster is a technical assistance activity under the Euromed Clusters Forward led by Berytech. It aims at strengthening the skills of cluster managers, staff, and SME members in the South Mediterranean region. This 18-month program offers training and technical help to help clusters grow and succeed.

Key focuses include establishing and improving the governance and sustainability models; developing strategies to attract new members; analyzing value chains for better market positioning; scaling-up their business performances and enhancing technological and innovation capabilities to foster North-South Mediterranean collaboration. 

Cluster Overview:

An Egyptian export council under the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, operating since 1997 with 150 active members. Its mission is to improve the competitiveness of Egyptian engineering products by providing export-related services such as producing market intelligence studies, organizing capacity building workshops, participating in international exhibitions, setting up trade missions to priority export markets and buyers’ missions to Egypt, and implementing economic development projects in collaboration with local stakeholders as well as international partners.

Scope of work

This project involves developing a structured curriculum and learning materials to empower the Engineering Cluster member companies on AI applications in industrial settings. The program shall combine theoretical foundations, case studies, and practical methodologies to help participants understand, evaluate, and implement AI solutions in their companies.

The trainer/expert will:

  • Organize a kick-off meeting with the cluster representatives to establish an understanding of the scope and desired outcomes of the capacity building activity.
  • Elaborate a detailed curriculum and learning materials that will, among other things: 
    • Introduction to AI in industry: Overview of machine learning, Deep learning and AI’s role in engineering and manufacturing.
    • Industrial applications of AI: Present, using illustrative examples, the industrial applications of artificial intelligence such predictive maintenance, quality control, supply chain optimization, AI-powered robotics, demand forecasting, and energy management. Case studies demonstrating AI’s impact on efficiency and productivity.
    • AI-powered market research for business growth: Outline, using a selection of inspirational case studies, the various ways AI industrial application in market trend analysis, customer insights, and competitive intelligence and hands-on introduction to AI-based data analysis and forecasting tools.
    • Identifying the right AI solutions for industrial problems: Equip the participants with a series of tools and methods to help them identify which technological solutions are suitable for which problems within their respective companies.
    • Technical basics and requirements for AI deployment: Explain the technical basics and requirements of deploying AI solutions in engineering and manufacturing companies such as data requirements, infrastructure needs…
    • Implementing AI in industrial processes: Detail the necessary steps to follow to successfully address an AI implementation project in industrial processes including the risks to take into consideration and the pitfalls to avoid.
  • Provide participants with market research skills using AI to support business strategy and innovation.
  • Validate the training content with the cluster representatives.
  • Secure a venue and refreshments for the workshops in coordination with the Cluster representatives.
  • Deliver and facilitate a series of “Industrial applications of artificial intelligence” workshop(s).
  • Administer a satisfaction survey for the participants.
  • Write a brief report summarizing the activity and listing the key findings of the satisfaction survey.
Expected deliverables
  • Detailed training curriculum covering AI concepts, industrial applications, business value, implementation strategies, and risks.
  • AI market research module to teach participants how to leverage AI for competitive analysis, trend forecasting, and decision-making.
  • Learning materials including slides, case studies, exercises, and toolkits.
  • Workshop & practical exercises with real-world examples and interactive discussions.
  • Final report covering the outcomes of the workshops and upcoming steps.
Timeline

The total number of working days allocated for this consultancy is set at 10 days.

Activity: Elaborating & validating the workshop’s curriculum

Due Date: 20 April

Activity:Booking the venue and securing the refreshments

Due Date: 25 April  

Activity:Delivering the training session(s)

Activity:Producing and submitting the workshop’s wrap-up report  

Due Date: 10 May

Qualifications
  • A degree in computer science, data science or a related field.
  • A proven track record in providing AI-focused training programs to SMEs and private corporations.  
  • An extensive experience in various AI tools and solutions and their practical applications in the engineering and manufacturing industries.
  • A sound knowledge of the latest trends, advancements, and best practices in the artificial intelligence field.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills. 
  • Fluency in English and Arabic.

The Application should include:

  • Technical proposal describing the methodology, content of the mission
  • Financial proposal describing the costs incurred in preparing and providing the mission. The financial proposal shall be quoted in EURO.
  • CVs of the individuals involved
