Greening Clusters (online) – Call for Experts

Context & Background

About Berytech:

Berytech is a leading organization in the Entrepreneurial Eco-system in Lebanon, that aims to provide a conducive environment for the creation and development of startups, through incubation, business support, counseling, funding, networking, and company hosting, hence taking part in the economic revival of the country, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and high-level skills in Lebanon.

About Euromed Clusters Forward:

Euromed Clusters Forward is a 4-year project that aims at establishing and improving clusters legal policies, strengthening clusters capacity & regional cooperation, and strengthening regional value chains. Berytech is the implementing partner of Euromed Clusters Forward in Lebanon, that is funded by the European Union and coordinated by Anima Investment Network with 3 implementing partners and 9 affiliates from the Euromed region.

About the Academy:

Berytech in collaboration with ANIMA Investment Network is launching the EuroMed Clusters Forward Cluster Elevate 3.0,  a 3-day online capacity-building program (9 hours total) aimed at equipping cluster managers, board members and members with the knowledge and tools to lead their organizations and members toward more sustainable practices, accessing the green financing tools, preparing their green transition projects to pitch for financiers.

Through expert-led sessions, interactive exercises, and real-life specialized case studies, the Academy will provide practical frameworks for integrating sustainability into cluster strategies, developing green value chains, and identifying new market opportunities aligned with the circular economy.

The training will be delivered ONLINE on December 10, 11, and 12, 2025 and conducted in English.

Coverage: Berytech covers the expertise expenses of the expert(s).

Scope of work

Pre-Training – Planning & Agenda Development

• Hold an alignment meeting with the Berytech team to clarify the scope, objectives, deliverables, and timeline of the assignment.
• Design the 3-day online training agenda and content based on these inputs, covering themes in a structured and coherent format such as:
  • Understanding the challenges, opportunities and the roadmap of a company towards its green transition including:
    • green and sustainable strategy, regulatory risk management,
    • circularity, green and local supply chain, sustainable transport and logistics,
    • resource efficiency, energy transition,
    • eco conception, eco certification and standards,
    • carbon footprint.
  • Accessing the green financing tools available for MENA companies.
  • Preparing a green transition project and pitching to financers
• The expert(s) must take into consideration the following aspects when preparing the agenda:
  • challenges, opportunities and the roadmap of a company towards green transition
  • Mapping and presentating financing tools available for MENA companies’ green transition (from international and national donors)
  • Preparing companies to pitch their projects
• Submit a detailed training agenda to Berytech, including learning objectives, session descriptions, topics to be covered, methodologies, and any pre-training reading or tools.

Phase 2: During Training – Online Sessions

• Deliver a 3 half-day interactive online training program (approx. 9 hours total).
• Ensure the sessions are highly practical and engaging, using tools, templates, and real-world examples.
• Support participants in developing draft sustainability roadmaps or action plans for their companies to pitch for potential donors.
• Participate in matchmaking sessions with potential clients.

Phase 3: Post-Training – Reporting & Follow-up:

• Deliver a Post-Training Report summarizing:
  • Training activities, tools used, and participant engagement
  • Key learnings and recommendations for future capacity building
  • Feedback and assessment of participants
• Conduct virtual follow-up meetings with clusters and/or Berytech (if needed) to support the implementation of the action plans and address additional queries.
• Provide a Post-Training Report that includes:

i) A summary of the training activities, tools used, and participant engagement.

ii) An assessment of participants’ knowledge and a recommendation for future steps to enhance the clusters’ financial management capabilities.

iii) The report must be delivered in English.

Expected deliverables

• • Detailed Training Agenda and Materials and delivery: Includes presentations, tools, and templates used during the sessions.
  • Post-Training Report: A comprehensive report evaluating the training, participant outcomes, and recommendations for future improvements.

Timeline

• Following the selection of the consulting agency/ expert(s), Berytech team will closely coordinate with them to develop the agenda.
• The expert will develop the training material that will include hands-on tools, relevant information & templates.
• The expert will deliver the training on 10, 11, and 12 December 2025
• The expert will share the report within a timeline of 2 weeks following the academy.
• The expert will be invited to a series of webinars and individual meetings at a later stage as part of the Cluster Elevate 3.0 initiative with ANIMA Investment Network.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience in sustainability, circular economy, or green transition for the private sector (specifically clusters & SMEs).
• Proven experience designing and delivering professional training programs.
• Strong understanding & expertise of sustainable value chains, ESG frameworks, EU Green deal and green financing tools and opportunities.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of French or Arabic is a plus
• Experience working with business clusters, SMEs, or innovation ecosystems is preferred
• Familiarity with the South-Med private sector and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in multicultural environments
