Project Manager – Entrepreneurship Support

Overview

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The USAID/Lebanon Diverting Waste by Encouraging Reuse and Recycling (DAWERR) Activity is working to establish sustainable and replicable integrated solid waste diversion and valorization solutions in rural areas of Lebanon. The target is to introduce financially sustainable solutions that increase the reuse, recycling and monetization of solid waste and reduce the amount of “residual” solid waste that goes into landfills.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & JOB TASKS

 

Implementation and completion of the projects within the budget and the scope of activities

  • Prepare the implementation project plan in coordination with the direct manager
  • Develop and implement project activities
  • Manage the activities implementations related to the projects, in coordination with concerned departments including: planning, execution, follow up, outreach and mobilization of stakeholders, monitoring and reporting
  • Ensure that all activities are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget, Direct follow up with client, partners and donors to understand project requirements and liaise for activities implementation and startups/SMEs growth
  • Add value and explore opportunities through researching new practices and improving existing tools of the project

 

Business and technical support

  • Assist in the development, management and disbursement of a grant award program for entrepreneurs
  • Develop and implement project’s business support activities for entrepreneurs in collaboration with experts and consultants
  • Lead on the innovation camps development and implementation in collaboration with outreach officer
  • Map the green funding and green support entities in Lebanon
  • Assist entrepreneurs in investment readiness and facilitate linkages and access to investment networks
  • Facilitate access to potential investors, donors, and others for financing or co-financing SWM initiatives and facilities implemented by the Activity
  • Facilitate SWM Prototype development for entrepreneurs’ support through the Fablab facility when requested

 

Prepare reports for upper management and donors regarding status of project

  • Produce reporting on the progress and status of projects ensuring that issues are escalated and managed as required
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Prepare the projects’ reporting following the templates shared by the donors

 

Oversee project admin tasks

  • File all the required documents and sheets on a common platform
  • Support in the research needed
  • Support in handling the logistics of the events

 

Other responsibilities

  • Support the team in specific events, bootcamps where required and applicable
  • Participate in Berytech-related events and networking opportunities when called upon
  • Assist in tasks required by the organization

 

EDUCATION & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, business, engineering or similar
  • At least 4 years of relevant work experience in incubator/business support and investment readiness and facilitation, ideally with an incubator or accelerator
  • Strong project coordination and/or management experience, preferably with international donor agencies
  • Expertise in providing business support for small businesses
  • Fluency in Arabic and English, French is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Coordination experience or management of projects
  • Good interpersonal skills, keen to work in a team environment and customer oriented
  • Computer literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, basic software applications and familiarity with the internet and email communications
  • Self-starter, resourceful, Initiative taker, able to make decisions
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced professional environment with multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Critical thinking and attention to details
  • Present a positive, professional image of the company with all customers and suppliers, internal and external
  • Knowledge of or experience in the SWM sector a plus
