Ali Ghandour is an associate researcher at the Lebanese National Center for Remote Sensing under the National Council for Scientific Research (CNRS), where he established the Geospatial Earth Observation (GEO) group. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Communication, awarded in 2013, and previously worked at Toyota Motor North America’s InfoTech Labs in Mountain View, USA. Since joining CNRS in 2015, Ali has also served as the coordinator of the Lebanese National Innovation Transfer Network.
With over 40 publications, Ali’s research focuses on AI-assisted mapping across diverse applications, including urban analytics, transportation, waterbodies monitoring, and crop-yield estimation. His earlier research contributions include work on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), vehicular cognitive networks, and the IEEE P1609 standard Working Group.
