Bashar Berro is a seasoned agriculture and agrifood expert with over 21 years of experience in private sector development and international consultancy. Born and raised in Zahle, Lebanon—a region with over a century of agricultural heritage—Bashar carries a deep-rooted passion for sustainable food systems and rural development.
He holds a comprehensive academic background from the American University of Beirut (AUB), where he earned a Bachelor of Agricultural Engineering, a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, and a Master of Science in Plant Sciences. He is also certified in Project Management (PMP), HACCP auditing, Global GAP auditing, and holds training credentials in ISO 9001, 22000, 45001, and 14001 standards. Currently, he serves as a part-time lecturer at AUB, sharing his field knowledge with the next generation of agrifood professionals.
Since 2010, Bashar has been a trusted consultant, advisor, and expert to numerous regional and international organizations, leading and contributing to impactful projects across Lebanon, the Middle East, Europe, and Africa.
