Cluster Coordinator "Sustainable Economic Development", Gender Focal Person at GIZ Lebanon

Lama Zeinoun Tabet is a Lebanese development expert with a demonstrated history of working in the non-profit and development sectors specifically on women and youth projects. She started her development work as trainer with the Euromed Youth program of the EU, in addition to working with local and international organizations on topics that included women empowerment, youth empowerment, youth employability, entrepreneurship, community engagement and social leadership. She worked in Lebanon with Search for Common Ground, NCLW, Haya Bina, UNESCO Office Beirut, Lebanese Reforestation Initiative, Nabad for Development, Nawaya Network, Anti Racism Movement, MEPI LAA, Teach for Lebanon, NPA and YWCA and regionally and internationally with International Alert, Salto Euromed as well as the French, Italian, Finnish, Spanish and Turkish National Agencies of the Erasmus Plus program. She was also part of the team behind a strategic partnership on women political and economic empowerment led by the Italian National Agency of Erasmus Plus, that included international seminars in Lebanon, Morocco and Italy.

With a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the American University of Beirut and a master’s degree in management from La Sagesse University, Lama’s passion in development and youth work extends beyond her career. She is a voluntary board member is a local sports and youth organization called “Chabibeh Sporting Club” offering young men and women development opportunities in sports and non-formal education.

In 2018, Lama joined GIZ as project advisor for a regional “women political empowerment” program. Later on, she co-developed and managed a project on Gender Based Violence. She also managed an education project then became the coordinator for the Sustainable Economic Development cluster in July 2024. Currently Lama is leading the cluster that includes projects in the TVET, employment promotion, agriculture and social protection sectors.

Lama is also the gender focal person for GIZ Lebanon ensuring the proper implementation of the safeguards and gender management system for running and planned projects. In addition, she is responsible for the development and implementation of a yearly gender action plan that aligns with the GIZ gender strategy.
