Pia Elian brings over 10 years of legal expertise spanning litigation, corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, real estate, insurance, family offices, and hospitality. A graduate of Saint Joseph University of Beirut, she holds an LL.M. in International Business Law and a Graduate Diploma in Private Law, complemented by specialized training in Legaltech AI.
Currently, Pia serves as the legal counsel for Saint Joseph University (since 2019), managing legal affairs for the university and its associated hospital, including intellectual property law tutoring for marketing students. She is actively involved in drafting and negotiating diverse legal agreements, such as MOUs and NDAs, and has played a pivotal role in establishing the university’s branch in Abidjan, Africa.
In her role as Senior Associate at Sabbagh Law Firm in Beirut and Qatar (since 2021), Pia specializes in drafting commercial agreements, overseeing M&A legal documentation, and managing corporate governance matters. Her responsibilities include advising on international employment law, handling civil and arbitral court cases, and setting up companies in the Qatari Financial Center.
Prior to her current positions, Pia gained valuable experience at Tohme Law Firm in Beirut (2014-2021), where she advised on corporate restructuring, intellectual property rights, and real estate arbitration. She also contributed to the firm’s Pro Bono initiatives and supervised trainee lawyers.
Pia’s career began at Farid El Khoury Law Firm in Beirut (2013-2014), where she honed her legal skills in case preparation and client consultation.
Her educational background includes an LL.M. in International Business Law (2015-2016), a Master’s in Private Law (2012-2013), and a Bachelor’s degree in Law (2009-2012), all from Saint Joseph University of Beirut.
