Mr. Ralph Sbeih is a civil engineer and environmental planner with over 13 years of experience in project management, environmental governance, and infrastructure and urban planning. He holds a master’s degree in Environmental and Infrastructure Planning from Groningen University, with a specialization in Communicative Planning and Complexity Theory within the Rebuild by Design framework.
Sbeih’s work integrates participatory planning, stakeholder engagement, and resilience-building strategies to effectively address urban and environmental challenges. His career has focused on sustainable development with expertise in solid waste management, circular economy models, and green business ecosystems.
As Chief Strategy Officer and co-founder of Plastc Lab, Sbeih develops innovative plastic recycling solutions in collaboration with municipalities and NGOs. His leadership has been central to advancing circular economy initiatives and transforming plastic waste into valuable, sustainable products.
In parallel, he serves as a consultant and researcher at the Hariri Foundation, promoting sustainable consumption and production (SCP) and circular economy (CE) principles. His work spans capacity-building, policy development, and multi-stakeholder collaboration to integrate sustainability across various sectors.
Sbeih has collaborated with key development actors, including COOPI on sustainable solid waste management, GIZ’s Connective Cities program to promote CE initiatives, and Berytech in launching Lebanon’s Solid Waste Management Innovation Cluster.
With a strong foundation in construction management, environmental tourism, and participatory urban planning, Sbeih is committed to bridging the gap between policy, technical expertise, and community-driven solutions to advance urban sustainability and environmental governance.
