Ranine Awwad is a Human Rights Expert and Researcher currently serving as the Environmental Editor at Daraj Media. She has a keen interest in all facets of human rights, with a particular focus on their intersections with environmental issues, armed conflicts, international law, policy reform, and public participation in decision-making. Recognized for her leadership and dedication, Ranine was awarded the Chevening Scholarship to complete her master’s degree in International Human Rights Law at Lancaster University in the United Kingdom.

Throughout her career, Ranine has provided consulting services to international stakeholders, research centers, and academic institutions. She served as the Component Leader and Governance Expert for the European Union Delegation to Lebanon/LDK Consultants, where she led the evaluation mission for EU-funded recycling facilities in Lebanon. She has also secured grants, drafted reports, and coordinated impactful projects on waste management, local governance, and community engagement. She led workshops engaging youths in formulating projects that emphasized the importance of their participation in decision-making related to healthier solid waste management.

Driven to bridge environmental policy with practical research, Ranine is committed to raising awareness about critical environmental issues affecting communities.
