Dr. Rodrigue Imad was born in Beirut, Lebanon in 1983. He received the BE degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications and Computers Track from the Lebanese University, Faculty of Engineering, Roumieh, Lebanon. He received the Master of Science degree in Signal, Telecommunications and Images from IMT Atlantique (formerly Telecom Bretagne) France, in 2006. In 2009, Dr. Imad received the Ph.D. degree in Signal Processing and Telecommunications from IMT Atlantique in France.
Dr. Imad completed two Postdocs in France. He was also an academic visitor at University of Leeds, School of Electronics and Electrical Engineering, UK.
Dr. Imad joined the University of Balamand in October 2011. From February 2012 till January 2022, he was the Chairperson of the Mechatronics Department at Issam Fares Faculty of Technology. In February 2022, Dr. Imad joined the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Balamand as Associate Professor in the Computer Engineering Department.
Dr. Imad taught a variety of courses that involve different fields, including Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Programming, Logic Circuits, Robotics, Telecommunications, Electrical and Electronic Circuits, etc.
The research interests of Dr. Imad include Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning applied for digital communications, synchronization techniques and robotics. He conducted fundamental and applied research, and his papers were published in internationally renowned journals and flagship conferences. Dr. Imad participates regularly in the peer reviews of international journals and serves as a member of several Technical Program committees of international conferences.
Dr. Imad is part of the RL4ENG project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Program. This project includes partners from Jordan, Morocco, Tanzania, Germany, Spain and Lebanon. He is the manager of this project at the University of Balamand.
Dr. Imad is actively engaged in various university committees. He is also the advisor of the IEEE Computer Society at the University of Balamand.
