The second batch of the ScaleSmart Investment Readiness and Scaleup Program has officially kicked off, welcoming a new cohort of six promising startups from various industries. The selection process took place during a two step process involving industry experts and a one-on-one with the Berytech Team to assess program fit. Both events were at Berytech Innovation Park in Mar Roukoz, where a group of 12 pre-selected startups pitched their innovative solutions to a dynamic panel of investors, business strategists, and seasoned entrepreneurs and then to Berytech’s team. This engaging process, followed by an in-depth evaluation from the ScaleSmart team, led to the final selection of six startups. These startups were chosen based on their growth potential, innovative approach, market presence, and investment readiness.
Meet the selected startups:
- Purpl: A mobile app that allows you to instantly receive money sent from anywhere in the world via digital remittance partners and cash it out in USD across Lebanon. Purpl introduced the first ATM cardless withdrawal for remittances.
- AccessOff: Enables secure sharing of online accounts without disclosing passwords. Users can customize what they share, such as allowing limited access to post on LinkedIn, while tracking activities and setting time limits for collaboration.
- LocalHost: A proptech company that bridges the gap between hotels, traditional furnished apartments, and online platform rentals by offering smart, branded furnished residences. LocalHost handles everything from guest relations and marketing to housekeeping and maintenance.
- uPaint: Revolutionizing the art industry by using machine learning and computer vision to transform any picture into numbered regions corresponding to specific colors. This allows even individuals with no painting skills to create stunning artwork.
- Kamkalima: An award-winning digital Arabic literacy solution that combines interactive online exercises with offline classroom activities, offering a comprehensive and engaging approach to teaching Arabic.
- Awfarli: A mobile app that enhances grocery shopping in Lebanon through real-time price comparisons, seamless ordering, and market insights, creating a more transparent and competitive shopping experience for consumers and supermarkets alike.
As part of the ScaleSmart program, the selected startups will receive specialized mentorship and advisory services tailored to enhance their scaling journey. The program offers crucial resources such as building investor-ready data rooms, conducting thorough valuations, and developing impactful investment pitches. Moreover, the startups will have access to high-level executives and advisors from Lebanon, the Netherlands, and other international networks to refine their strategies and bolster their fundraising capabilities.
Throughout the program, founders will be empowered with the skills to navigate their investment path, negotiate effectively with potential investors, and explore investment opportunities through events and one-on-one matchmaking.
