Joelle Barhoun joined Berytech in April 2021 as an Investment Analyst working with environmentally and socially sustainable SMEs in the MENA region on the Water & Energy for Food program (WE4F), and with innovative startups shortlisted in the AgryTech and Cleanergy accelerators.
Joelle has a background in Civil Engineering from Université Saint-Joseph de Beyrouth and holds a Master’s degree in Management from IE Business School in Madrid. She has decided to make the switch in her career (from engineering to business) once she discovered that she has a strong passion for finance and wants to pursue a profession in this field.
Before joining Berytech, Joelle was able to expand her knowledge and experience in that sector by landing one internship as a financial advisor for a small healthcare enterprise based in Lebanon, and another one as a quantitative analyst for a social trading startup based in India.
Joelle also thoroughly enjoys working with startups and has herself entered a venture lab incubator program at IE. She developed then with three other coworkers an idea based on a gig economy platform in the FoodTech industry. The startup was shortlisted and allowed Joelle and her team to present the pitch deck in front of four investors included in the panel of jury.
