Joey Ghanem currently holds the role of Partner Growth Manager, supporting ecosystem partners grow their knowledge and expertise in running validation and ideation activities that aim at enabling entrepreneurs across all Lebanese geographies programs through capacity building, bootcamps, and programs.
Before moving to the programs department, Joey held the position of Communication and Outreach Manager where she led on setting communications and outreach strategies, content development, concept initiations and execution, and reporting. Her work also consisted of launching and supporting local and regional calls to support startups and MSMEs for programs and projects (ACT Smart Innovation Hub Initiative, QOOT Cluster, WE4F, DAWERR Program etc.)
Since she joined Berytech in 2018, Joey has been supporting entrepreneurs, leading several activities, events and projects such as ideathons, hackathons, demo days, bootcamps, and other activities. She focuses on growing community engagement, by developing, managing and implementing activities. She has also co-led and implemented with IDGC the Future Agro Challenge Impact Makers program to support regional ecosystem builders receive capacity building to enhance innovations in the agri-food sector. She also worked with FAO to provide a Capacity Building Program for an incubator in Mauritania, she implemented a regional startup competition: Agrination with FAO and IDGC as well as being an Impact Maker in the Future Agro Challenge global competition representing Lebanon. During her work at Berytech, Joey received her certification as a Design Sprint Master and joined Source Institute as a delivery manager for an unconference in Rio de Janeiro.
Before joining Berytech, Joey worked in several fields including theater, exhibitions, hotels, incubator, and F&B in Lebanon and abroad. She received her Master’s in Tourism Management and Planning- Development of Tourism Products from the Universitat de Girona in Spain, allowing her to get a job placement at the Conference Center in Girona. In 2011, and after graduating with a B.A. in Hospitality Management – Events Management from Notre Dame University, Joey moved to Orlando and worked at Orange Lake resort in the activity department, before heading back to Lebanon in 2012. She then decided to try a new field and expanded her experience into the F&B industry working for nearly four years in a catering company.
Joey is dynamic and resourceful, traits which play in her favor in developing successful outreach programs and events at Berytech. She is an avid traveler, discovering new countries every spare time she has.
