Finding someone you can trust to care for your beloved can prove to be more challenging than you think. At the same time, highly qualified nurses and caregivers in Lebanon struggle with unemployment, long working hours and low wages. In 2016, our founder Hussein Sleiman spotted that gap and came up with a simple plan to connect nurses to patients. He created Find A Nurse, an easy and reliable way to find, hire and manage nurses, nannies and trusted caregivers via a simple online platform.
For almost six years, we have been continuously working on building the largest network of home healthcare providers. Our platform currently allows you to browse nearby profiles for caregivers, filter and sort them based on proximity and fees, and check their photos, availability, qualifications, locations, and biographies. Hiring a caregiver has never been easier.
Behind that simple service is our growing team working on the elaborate mission of converting the informal home care sector into a well-structured, organized home care marketplace. In other terms, we are protecting caregivers against abuse, wage-bargaining, low and late payments, burnout, unpaid overtime, improper working conditions, and harassment. We’re also protecting our clients from exploitation, punctuality and absenteeism issues.
We reach out to caregivers from every walk of life, from certified nurses to people in underprivileged communities, and give them access to flexible employment in healthy working conditions. Our job does not stop there. We provide them with tailored one-on-one life-skills training that includes topics on etiquette, home care basics, communication skills, and company policies. We also help them build professional profiles on our platform to maximize their chances of being booked by clients.
Since our launch in June 2018, we have managed to build a profitable business that has recruited 250+ caregivers who offered more than 52,000 hours of care and generated over $330,000 in total sales. We bootstrapped our way to validate our model in Lebanon and we are taking concrete steps to set foot in other countries. We launched our pilot in Qatar in 2020 with a plan to make it across the rest of the MENA region.
