TRANSDAIRY: Twenty Dairy Innovators Join Training Bootcamp

The 20 participants will move to develop their business models, access to finance and market strategies and get equipped with all necessary technical, legal and administrative information to turn their innovative ideas into successful businesses.

Twenty independent entrepreneurs and innovators working on solutions in the  Dairy Value Chain attended a 6-day online training program to address the opportunities and challenges in the Dairy sector in Lebanon as part of the TRANSDAIRY program. The 20 participants will move to develop their business models, access to finance and market strategies and get equipped with all necessary technical, legal and administrative information to turn their innovative ideas into successful businesses.

The program was organized by Berytech and ELCIM at the Industrial Research Institute (IRI), under the EU-funded Transdairy Program.

Next Steps

Participants who have successfully attended the 6 days of the training will receive a €200 voucher to use in a way that supports the initiation of the project such as creating a prototype, design & marketing and business consultancy.

They will also have access to the TRANSDAIRY regional online collaborative platform which features a database of Dairy Value Chain regional demand and offer, and allows communication and networking among regional innovators, suppliers, partners and prospective clients. Berytech will also include them in upcoming opportunities, events and trainings that they can additionally benefit from in the context of this project.

The participants will take part in the TRANSDAIRY Open Day event to pitch their solutions, exhibit, and network with industry experts and potential investors. The Open Day will take place in Fall 2021.

Selection Criteria

Particpants to the program were selected based on the below criteria: 

  • Independent entrepreneurs or farmers working on Dairy Value Chain solutions in the Dairy, ICT, or Bio/Nano technologies. 
  • University students, alumni and researchers working on business or research projects in the Dairy, ICT, or Bio/Nano technologies. 
  • SME, Dairy industries, NGOs, ICT, or Bio/Nano technologies 

About Transdairy

Transdairy is a 30-month project funded by the European Union under the ENI CBC Med Program to grow innovation and entrepreneurship opportunities in the Dairy Value Chain and empower this ecosystem in the Mediterranean with a budget €3.8 million The project will use the open innovation and living lab methodology to bring stakeholders together including researchers, industry players, SMEs, representatives from the public sector, entrepreneurs, to exchange best practices, collaborate together and implement Key Enabling Technologies and solutions applied to the Dairy Value Chain.

Throughout this project, Berytech and ELCIM at Industrial Research Institute (IRI) will be facilitating the setup of Innovation Living Labs, supporting the development and financing of innovation and entrepreneurship projects, and enable matchmaking and collaboration opportunities between different stakeholders in the Dairy Value Chain in Lebanon and the Mediterranean
