Berytech invites you to join a community and network of entrepreneurs in Lebanon focusing on science and technology. Join our second edition of the Artificial intelligence series organized in collaboration with Beirut A.I. about Machine Learning, and access resources, build connections and gain additional knowledge.

Speakers

Bernard Ghanem – Associate professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and the head of the Image and Video Understanding Lab (IVUL) at KAUST, will be highlighting the current state and future directions of computer vision and machine learning with regards to both research and applications, especially in how it relates to the AI boom that we are witnessing nowadays. Bernard has extensive experience in computer vision, machine learning, and optimization geared towards real-world application were his interest lies. He has received several awards and honors, including two Best Paper Awards a two-year KAUST Seed Fund in 2014, and a Google Faculty Research Award in 2015. He has co-authored more than 75 peer reviewed conference and journal papers in his field as well as two issued patents.

Ali El Zein – Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ideatolife, will be discussing the challenges in the machine learning industry, the AI integrated solutions built for their customers, and will be providing recommendations for future entrepreneurs who are looking into creating a startup in the AI – Machine learning field. Ali has 14 years of experience attest to his native technology and software leadership skills, but also to his ability to adapt to all environments. For Ali technology has always worked for the benefit of business and people, and not the other way around.

Christophe Zoghbi – the founder of Beirut AI, will be talking about the mission of Beirut AI and the role they’re playing in democratizing Artificial Intelligence and enabling everyone to apply it. He will cover the importance of AI today and for the future and will highlight what we need to do to make sure we’re on the right track. Christophe is a Software Engineer with over 8 years of experience in Software development, who is focusing on organizing community events and technical workshops to help people and businesses understand and apply Artificial Intelligence.
