Session 1: Introduction to Agility for Project Management by Salah Awad, Accelerator CTO at Berytech

Agility was recently associated with Project Management in the software industry, where developers were looking to reduce the time-to-market and increase the fast delivery of applications.

Fast project outcomes with the best quality has been the focus of many international organizations. Delivering by iterating on parts of the project, while making decisions with customers in the loop, was essential in the fast-changing business ecosystem.

Organizational agility incorporates aspects of both. It refers to an organization’s ability to adapt and respond to changes in external market conditions. This includes not just speed but remaining in touch with the needs of customers.

Topics covered during the session include:

  • Agility: definition and implementation
  • Project agility and organizational agility
  • How to be agile and what is the recommended team structure
  • Introduction to project management tools: Trello and JIRA

Salah’s role as CTO at Berytech involves mentoring startups, helping them to grow and develop and overseeing each startup’s project implementation. He is working on establishing partnerships and launching tech community initiatives that would support both the Berytech Fab Lab and the organization.

As a community guy, he wanted to support other developers in their learning path and was selected by Facebook in early 2017 as a community lead for Facebook Developers Circle in Lebanon, which served perfectly his passion to support his fellow developers. The circle, as of 2019, has attracted more than 2500 active developers and organized more than 50 events to help them shape their technical and soft skills, getting better opportunities that fit their potential and aspirations.

Salah has a passion for working with impact-driven startups, particularly in the sectors of agritech, cleantech, and socialtech. He is confident that with teamwork and a great network of mentors, the incubation venture will be definitely enjoyable and successful.
