Throughout this webinar series, we will cover stress management, emotional intelligence, how to evaluate and monitor your personal mental health, the importance of maintaining a growth mindset in the face of setbacks, the tools to remain resilient and flexible during volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous times, how to make desertions in complex situations, learn how to lead yourself and others, become a more effective leader by adopting a proactive attitude.

Session 1: Stress management: Achieving self-awareness and self-management in the face of stressful challenges

Leaders in a strategic/key position in an MSME are often under-prepared for crises and can suffer disastrous consequences when they experience them. During this part, participants will be introduced to emotional intelligence during times of crisis covering the impact of stress and VUCA situations on their personal and professional wellbeing.

  • Empowering participants to better understand and manage crisis-related stress
  • Helping them to understand common biases and misconceptions during VUCA situations
  • Advisees will be guided to create a valid goal setting map. A tool that they would use to evaluate and monitor their personal mental health

Session 2: Neuroleadership: Anticipating, Preventing, And Responding To Adversity

Tuesday, November 30, 2021 | 3:00pm – 5:00pm

Being flexible and rapidly responsive allows leaders to deal with uncertainty in an effective manner, asserting that, this can be an effective approach to crisis management. Their dynamic capabilities, specifically their proactive attitude and ability to mobilize and integrate external resources in the event of shocks, are key to their ability to withstand such events.

  • Providing participants with tools to remain resilient and flexible in an increasingly unstable and unpredictable time
  • Providing participants with the necessary tools to practice decision-making in complex situations
  • Getting participants to master the language of growth vs. fixed mindset in the face of setbacks

Samah Karaki

Co-founder of Social Brain Institute (SBI)

Samah Karaki is a neuroscientist, brain researcher and entrepreneur. After 10 years of research in the field of learning and stress-related behaviors, Samah co-founded in 2014 the Social Brain Institute (SBI) translating knowledge from many different disciplines including cognitive neuroscience, education and psychology into innovative approaches. Today, SBi is developing programs using our understanding of the human brain to improve organizational culture, leadership and eco-citizenship and striving to contribute in the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Samah holds a master 1 degree in ecology and evolution, a master’s degree in cognitive neuroscience and a PhD in Neuroscience.
