A dynamic and inspiring serial entrepreneur, mentor, angel investor, speaker and one of the UK’s leading authorities on female entrepreneurship, Bev Hurley has spent more than 30 years building successful businesses – and sharing her expertise to create and grow others. One of Bev’s multi-award winning programmes, Enterprising Women, is the largest community devoted to growing female entrepreneurship in the UK, has supported thousands of women enterpreneurs to date. In the last four years alone, the YTKO Group as a whole has enabled the creation and growth of over 7,000 businesses and over 5000, new jobs. Bev holds a number of private and public non-executive directorships. She was awarded a CBE in the Queen’s New Year Honours 2014, and holds the Queens Award for Enterprise Promotion.
Florence Richardson, Co-president of the Femmes Business Angel network
After graduating from the Ecole Centrale Lille and the ESCP Europe and gaining 14 years experience at the Crédit Lyonnais Group, Florence created her own business and became a serial entrepreneur. She joined the Femmes Business Angels network in 2009 and became the network’s co-president. She also holds a “Company Director” Certificate from IFA/SC Po. An active Business Angel, Florence is holding shares of more than 20 innovative enterprises.
Vicki Dunn-Mussert, Senior Business Finance Advisor at Get Set for Growth
Vicki’s speciality lies in assisting SME’s in strategic growth, from designing financial systems and procedures to full business strategy, highlighting cost saving initiatives, whist managing efficient day to day operations. Vicki has frequently assisted businesses in investment readiness in the forms of business planning, tactical alignments/partnerships, network opportunities, internal finance & restructuring as well as educating & raising standard finance solutions. She also runs many training and investment readiness programmes for a diverse range of businesses, in areas such as understanding financial accounts, financial software, and sources of finance, as well as a course on designing compliant ISO 9001 systems, and coaches businesses on a 1:1 basis to prepare them to access finance from a range of different sources.
Thierry Baujard (moderator), President of Media Deals
Thierry is the founder of the pan-European investment network Media Deals, which focuses on cross-border investments in the mediatech sector. He is also CEO of peacefulfish, a financing consultancy firm specialized in the creative industries. For Media Deals, Thierry is in charge of developing the investment network across Europe and managing the network’s Investment Forums, which regularly bring mediatech companies and investors together for pitching sessions. With regard to this, he supports the network’s investors in identifying investment opportunities and in carrying out due diligence with a focus on cross-border transactions and exit strategies. Thierry has also been developing different creative industries funds for the film, music, and video games sectors. He is a regular speaker at conferences and summits on content and technology as well as an expert for the European Commission on regulations for investment in the digital sector.
