Overview

As the Communication and Outreach Coordinator within Berytech, you will be responsible for coordinating activities and executing program communication and outreach strategies. This role involves managing information, facilitating internal operations, and collaborating closely with the Communication and Outreach department at Berytech.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Your key responsibilities and accountabilities will include:

Communication

  • Develop, manage, and implement communication and outreach plans and activities, aligning with overall Berytech programs.
  • Develop content plans for the multiple channels reflecting the overall brand identity and story.
  • Create and gather engaging content for the relevant website and social media channels, including web releases, press releases, and social media content across various platforms.
  • Plan and develop content for each activity/event, covering emails, website updates, and social media posts.
  • Design and execute basic visual designs and communication materials in line with program requirements and collaboration with the Communication and Outreach department when needed.
  • Pitch interviews, stories, and articles about activities to the media.
  • Lead digital marketing planning efforts and oversee email marketing for each activity.
  • Prepare comprehensive communication and outreach reports, analyzing activities and social media engagement.

Event Management

  • Grow community engagement by developing, managing, and implementing various activities, events, and projects such as corporate and community events, workshops, and mentorship programs.
  • Communicate and collaborate with team members to understand activity requirements, including event briefs, budgets, fundraising, sponsorship needs, and objectives.
  • Develop detailed proposals for each activity, covering action plans, timelines, venues, suppliers, staffing needs, logistics, branding requirements, and sponsorship packages.
  • Manage all aspects of events, including invitations, communications, scheduling, venue setup, entertainment, catering, IT requirements, media relations, community support/partnerships, and branding.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations, including data entry, analysis, and recommendations, contributing to the annual Impact Report.
  • Manage the inventory of communication materials for events.

Outreach

  • Help identify and secure support deals with corporations and other support organizations for the Berytech Community.
  • Develop and manage the database including communities, speakers, suppliers, sponsors, and media contacts.
  • Identify and lead on new growth and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Research worldwide trends and innovative ideas, applying them locally.
  • Participate in ecosystem events to network, identify new practices, and explore partnership opportunities, contributing to Berytech’s exposure.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing or equivalent from an accredited university. Additional certificates are a plus.
  • Experience: At least 4 years in Communications, Event Management, Project Management, Media Relations, and Digital Marketing.
  • Languages: Fluency in Arabic and English, French is a plus.

Additional Skills

  • Strategic planners with good management, negotiation, and implementation skills.
  • Advanced skills in report writing, research, budget management, and logistics planning.
  • Expert in digital media tools and usage guidelines (Mailchimp, Hootsuite, WordPress, etc.)
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office programs and Marketing Software (ex. CRM).
  • Comfortable with creating articles and rich content for media outlets.
