Daher Food group

LED will assist Daher Food/Master Chips to hire a local consulting firm to deliver a series of high-quality, professional-level training on critical aspects of supply chain management.

LED signed an MOU with Master Chips, a large food company based in the Bekaa is the core company of Daher Food group. Master Chips produces and sells snack food. The company is an important employer in the Bekaa region and a major buyer of potatoes and other products produced by local farmers.

Daher Food is currently launching a new company, Riviera, which will produce biscuits and wafers to be sold through Daher Food/Master Chips’ distribution and sales channels. The group’s partners have confirmed the demand for these products. This expansion will require a larger and more sophisticated supply chain management operation since Master Chips and Riviera will need more production inputs. Accordingly, to support the planned scale-up in operations at Master Chips and Daher Food as a whole, the group has created a new centralized Supply Chain Department within Master Chips that will serve all Daher Food’s companies.

The success of the group’s enhanced supply chain operations depends on the quality of the supply chain team—the personnel. Daher Food’s Human Resource Department has concluded that the team needs an additional capacity building to ensure that it has all the necessary skills and know-how to meet Daher Food’s demands. LED will cost-share with Daher Food/Master Chips to hire a local consulting firm to deliver a series of high-quality, professional-level training on critical aspects of supply chain management. It is a learning journey rather than a one-time event.

With LED support, Master Chips will increase its sales and generate 90 new jobs by 2020.
