LED is supporting Faddoul Gardens to implement Global GAP certification.
Faddoul Gardens was founded in 2014 by Wassim Faddoul, who followed his childhood dream to set up a grape farm in Zahle, Wazzani and Sarada (South Lebanon). Faddoul Gardens is rapidly expanding and can currently boasts 21 full-time young employees. However, in peak seasons, the farm provides additional temporary job opportunities. Wassim sells Faddoul Gardens products locally in Lebanon, to markets, wholesalers and restaurants and exports to Qatar, KSA, Romania and Russia. Currently, a company in Romania that imports and distributes fruits and vegetables, is interested in increasing orders and buying larger quantities of grapes. International demand and inquiries for Faddoul Gardens products are contingent to Global G.A.P certification, which the company still does not have.
LED will hire a consultant to assist Faddoul Gardens in implementing the requirements of Global G.A.P. With LED’s assistance, the company expects to increase sales and create 5 new jobs in two years.
