LED is supporting Menessa Metal to obtain ISO 9001 certification. Menessa Metal is a family-owned business established in Rachaya in 1969. It started as a small company, one of the first to produce handmade classical wood and diesel stove, also known as “Soubya” in Lebanese.
Recently, several international buyers have expressed interest in purchasing tailored kitchen stainless steel supplies. The most important one is in Jordan. This buyer is in negotiation with Menessa Metal to import commercial kitchen fit-outs. The main barrier affecting this deal is that Menessa Metal does not have an ISO 9001 certification for the offered goods.
LED will cost share with Menessa Metal to hire an expert/consulting firm to assist the company in implementing the changes that are required for getting ISO 9001 certification. With LED’s assistance, the company expects to increase sales and create 5 new jobs in two years.
