Founder Rena Dagher’s late mother suffered from celiac disease, making her intolerant to many ingredients. This, in turn, required her to bake and prepare her own gluten-free & dairy-free food, which also became a passion. Later, Rena took her mother’s recipes, enhanced them and developed new ones, and she decided to establish her own business, Oh Bakehouse.
Interest in Oh! Bakehouse products are growing, and the company has identified new potential buyers locally and internationally. However, the company lacks proper managerial and organizational systems and structures. In addition, the company lacks in-house expertise to properly manage its increasingly complex logistic operations and the distribution.
LED will cost-share with Oh! Bakehouse to hire an F&B consultant who will assist the company to review and restructure the kitchen operations. This will involve but not be limited to defining and documenting all procedures, documenting recipes, putting in place an inventory management system, etc. In addition, the consultant will develop standard operating procedures manuals for quality control and health, safety and environment.
With LED’s assistance, Oh! Bakehouse expects to increase sales significantly and generate 24 new job opportunities by 2020.
