Statistics show that Lebanese women of childbearing age are deficient in vitamins B9, B12, and D at multiple percentages.
VitaLip is a range of lipstick for women fortified with micronutrients (especially folate, vitamin B12, and vitamin D). The solution covers women of childbearing age, improves compliance rate and improves nutritional status before conception. Since the requirements are in micro-grams, every woman can get her daily needs by applying twice per day, the amount applied is around 10 mg and 50% is ingested.
The Founders
Dr. Omar Obeid is a Professor in Human Nutrition at the American University of Beirut. His research interest is related to human nutrition and metabolism with a special focus on micronutrients fortification (vitamins and minerals).
Nehmat El Helou is a Dietitian/Nutritionist working as a research assistant at the American University of Beirut in the field of micronutrient fortification. She has a great passion for makeup and beauty products.
