Hundreds of companies in the US have pledged to use or sell only cage-free eggs by 2025. Cage-free eggs involve an entirely different way of raising hens which includes giving each bird 3.6 meters of space and allowing them to exhibit “natural behavior” by providing them with housing areas that include scratch areas, perches and nests.
There are several organic cage-free egg producers in Lebanon already but their number could definitely stand to increase if this trend for cruelty-free animal products continues and spreads.
