Edith Hachem

Junior Business Advisor

Edith Hachem joined Berytech in May 2023 as a Junior Business Advisor for Aryaf project. This project, funded by BMZ and implemented in partnership with GIZ, aims to support the growth and sustainability of micro, small, and medium-scale enterprises. In her role, Edith provides valuable assistance to these enterprises, helping them achieve their goals and navigate the challenges of the business landscape.

Edith holds a master’s degree in chemical engineering from Balamand University, which has equipped her with a strong technical background. Before joining Berytech, she gained over four years of experience in the economic recovery sector, specifically in livelihoods and rural development, working with various INGOs implementing projects for WFP, UNICEF, AICS and EU donors. During this time, as a project coordinator, she actively supported SMEs and implemented capacity-building projects such as Cash for Work and TVET (technical and vocational education trainings) throughout Lebanon.

After her experience in Lebanon in the development sector, Edith was awarded a scholarship to pursue a second master’s degree in Regional Environmental Economics from Budapest University of Technology and Economics. Throughout her studies, she worked remotely with a consulting agency, where she supported over 20 SMEs in Kuwait, assisting them in accessing funding opportunities through National Fund of Kuwait. Her expertise in developing feasibility studies and business plans enabled these SMEs to secure the necessary technical and financial support for their growth and success.

Edith’s unique blend of expertise in engineering, economics, and business development enables her to approach challenges with a well-rounded perspective. She is committed to helping businesses thrive by identifying opportunities, mitigating risks, and fostering sustainable practices.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Edith enjoys exploring new cultures, embracing diverse perspectives, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
