Mira Chammas joined Berytech in September 2021 and is currently a Senior Program Officer in the Innovation Hub department. She supports the team on multiple projects, implements and manages programs’ activities, coordinates with stakeholders, and assists in the execution of events.
She graduated with a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the American University of Beirut where she engaged in many student activities and joined clubs and societies.
Mira worked in several aspects of Civil Engineering ranging from research to site supervision and even design before realizing that it is not for her. She felt like she wanted to do something more impactful and meaningful where could make a positive impact on society and see people evolve, including herself.
She partly fulfills that drive through her volunteering with the Lebanese Red Cross where she has been an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) since 2019. It gives her a great sense of purpose and an undeniable feeling of satisfaction. Therefore, she wanted to steer her career towards a place where that feeling could flourish.
Mira thrives in a work environment that is dynamic and vibrant and likes to meet new people and connect with them, which is what makes her excited about working at Berytech.
Mira is passionate about sports – no, not the gym – and loves that it brings people together and that it ignites her competitiveness in an acceptable social context. She was part of the handball varsity team throughout her years at AUB. She also plays tennis and badminton and is a former gymnast.
When she has time to spare, she enjoys being and walking in nature, watching movies, as well as spending time with family and friends.
