Mirna Chammas

Senior Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Officer

Mirna Chammas joined Berytech in April 2022 and is currently the Senior Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Officer. Having a sustainable development background, Mirna believes that data is a powerful decision-making tool. Therefore, having a solid MEL system is key to successful projects.

Throughout her university years, Mirna gathered to gain professional experience in international NGOs such as Relief International and the Middle East and North Africa Harm Reduction Association (MENAHRA). Her work revolved mainly around vulnerable communities which strengthened her communication and teamwork skills as well as her ability to lead as she was the leader of a group of Community Health Workers in a relief project in response to the Beirut Blast.

Aside from her professional experience, Mirna was a committed scout member for 10 years which led her to develop a passion for community work. Mirna loves the beach and spending time outdoors as she is from Chekka, North Lebanon. As an environmentalist, she joined Diaries of the Ocean, a local NGO that works on marine life protection as a volunteer to offer support in events and projects.

Mirna is always eager to learn new things and isn’t afraid to take initiative or ask for help when it comes to an area she doesn’t know about. After graduating with a BS in Public Health and Development Sciences, she continued participating in trainings and courses to support her continuous learning journey.
