Rima Hijazi joined Berytech in March 2022 and is currently an Agri-food Advisor for the ACT Smart Program. With her background in the agri-food sector, she finds the program’s mission to match perfectly with her own vision.
Rima acquired her Agricultural Engineering Diploma at the Saint Joseph University of Beirut and had the opportunity to gain a scholarship to follow an exchange program with UniLaSalle Beauvais – France and obtain a specialization in Agricultural Marketing. In addition, she is finalizing her Master of Sciences Degree at the American University of Beirut in Agricultural Economics.
Currently, she is supporting the Agri-Food Specialist in the advisory role for startups in the accelerator program, handling research and case studies to support the different agri-food programs within Berytech.
Rima managed to get internships in some of the leading companies and NGOs in Lebanon such as Chateau Ksara, Chateau Kefraya, and UNDP for her to gain full knowledge about the insights of agriculture, the environment, and the food industry. She had the opportunity to work as a Student Employee and Research Assistant on several projects related to Agriculture in USJ, CNRS, and AUB. She worked as an Agri-Food Organic Agricultural Auditor and Quality Officer at CCPB which is a Certification Body involved in the certification of Organic Agricultural Activities mainly in Lebanon and the Middle East.
She finds her passion in helping people and in leaving a good impact on society for a better and more sustainable future. She engaged in different humanitarian activities, such as being a scout member and leader, and was a volunteer in the Donner Sang Compter NGO for two years.
Rima is passionate about discovering new places, traveling, and connecting to nature through several activities such as hiking and camping.
