MOWEC launched in January 2021 with a mission to counter climate change by ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all.
Their solution consists of building a coastal machine that can use the natural power of ocean waves and transform it into green energy. The machine transforms the upward and downward movement of sea waves into a rotational movement and transforms it into electrical energy.
The characteristic of the solution is its ability to retrieve and accentuate power starting from small waves, ranging from 0.5 m to 5.5 m, which covers around 95% of waves.
The solution generates green electrical energy for personal and industrial use reducing electricity expenses for all.
Sea-wave energy is infinite, available 24/7, however it is not yet intensively used as a renewable energy source because similar existing solutions are costly and harder to maintain than other sources of renewables – such as solar panels and wind turbines.
