Berytech participates in the very first edition of the Changemakers Festival
Berytech was among the community partners of the first edition of the Changemakers Festival – organized by Hult Prize Lebanon recently. During the two-day festival, Berytech’s team showcased the Berytech Fablab as well as organized two workshops.
Visitors of the Changemakers Festival had a great time experimenting with digital fabrication at the Fab Lab corner set up by Berytech and we able to get a sense of the multiple opportunities and possibilities in using the facility and technology available.
The festival gathered youth, decisions-makers and corporations with a common goal to turn Lebanon into the impact hub of the Middle East, by bridging the gap between the three actors.
In addition to the mini Fab Lab, Wael Khalil – the Fab Lab coordinator, ran a session around digital fabrication laboratories and Fab Labs entitled “Learn how joining the Berytech Fab Lab Makers Community can help you gain new skills and build your ideas.”
The session introduced to the makers what a Fab Lab is and its history concentrating on the mission and benefits of Berytech’s Fab Lab. Wael also introduced the different capabilities and technologies available at the lab. He also presented a wide range of projects that could be built in the fab lab, while showing samples of projects already made.
Moreover, Krystel Khalil – Program Director at Berytech, conducted a session revolving around “How applying to competitions helps you start your journey as an entrepreneur.” The session aimed at guiding makers on how to take their idea and turn it into a startup, by sharing tips and recommendations on how to proceed. Krystel also presented the different support and opportunities within Berytech ecosystem and shared with the participants tips on how to successfully complete application forms to be able to get selected in future competitions.
