Groupe Bel teamed up with Berytech to launch the ‘Kiri Mompreneur Challenge’. The competition was open for all moms with an innovative idea or project.
Over 80 applications were received and now 30 shortlisted applicants will be given access to a series of capacity building and business development workshops, helping them refine their business models and perfect their business plans for the second selection round.
A team from Groupe Bel and Berytech shortlisted the 30 projects who will move into the Phase 1 of the challenge and receive the training from Berytech during the summer.
“What we looked for was an innovative idea or project that is competitive, viable and scalable,” explains Joanna Abi Abdallah – Head of Business Support and Development at Berytech.
Those who applied had to be mothers based in Lebanon, with an early-stage, valid business idea project that contributes to improving the future of society and the planet. The mompreneurs needed to be innovating in art, education, culture, food or any other societal or environmental field.
Refining the Business Model
The 30 shortlisted momrpeneurs will be trained in market research, customer development, design thinking, marketing essentials, social media strategy, revenue models/financial projections, HR, and developing a business plan.
10 finalists will then be selected to be extensively trained for pitching their projects in front of the jury and the public during the competition’s finale in September.
Winning the Kiri Mompreneur Challenge
The winner of the Kiri Mompreneur Challenge will be enrolled for 6 months in Berytech’s incubation program – valued at $10,000 and will receive another $10,000 cash grant from Kiri.
