Berytech launched the call for the sixth batch of its Agrytech Accelerator Program, providing entrepreneurs innovating in agri-food technology with all the support they need to grow their startups.
The Agrytech Accelerator Program is under the ACT Smart Innovation Hub, an initiative launched by Berytech and funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Lebanon to enable the Lebanese entrepreneurial ecosystem and stimulate innovation and startup creation. Since its inception in 2017, The Agrytech Accelerator Program has graduated 39 startups allowing them to grow their ideas into successful businesses with a global impact. The program provides financial grants and a well-rounded package of technical and business support for startups to scale and grow in a mere 10-month period.
The Program’s Benefits
The Agrytech Accelerator Program is hyper-focused on equipping its Agri-Food entrepreneurs with the financial, business, and technical capabilities and resources to grow and scale.
The accelerator provides its startups with up to $100K in financial and technical support, and access to Berytech’s state-of-the-art electronics and hardware fabrication lab to develop their Minimum Viable Product (MVP). The startups are also provided with business coaching, including bootcamps, training, and one-on-one mentoring sessions to enhance entrepreneurial and decision-making skills. Moreover, the program facilitates access to customers and the Agri-Food industry by mediating linkages with local and international markets. Finally, selected entrepreneurs get the opportunity to participate in immersion and soft-landing trips to the Netherlands with the support of the Wageningen University and Research and StartLife, the leading AgriFoodTech Accelerator in Europe.
Who Can Join Agrytech?
For this batch of the Agrytech Accelerator Program, Berytech is seeking early-stage agrifood startups that are operating partially or fully in Lebanon having a tech-enabled or science-based product with a positive social or environmental impact.
Most importantly, with this edition of Agrytech focused on advanced solutions, startups with a validated prototype or MVP are highly encouraged to apply.
Five Years of Impact in Agri-Food
With the initial aim of advancing the agriculture and food technology sectors in Lebanon, the overarching goal of the Agrytech Accelerator Program is to create more job opportunities in these sectors contributing to a healthier and more vibrant economy. By targeting competitive and innovative Lebanese startups, the accelerator program has supported 290+ entrepreneurs in developing their startups, graduated 39 startups, delivered more than $1.5 Million in funding, and conducted 5 immersion and soft landing trips to the Netherlands.
