Berytech Meetups is a program powered by the Global Innovation of Science and Technology network (GIST), initiated by the U.S. Department of State, aiming at building a strong and vibrant network of entrepreneurs in Lebanon focusing on science and technology.
Under this partnership, Berytech is a Global Innovation through Science and Technology – GIST Innovation Hub in Lebanon, joining a vibrant network of programs that nurture the next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators through training.
Since 2016 and through the Meetup series, Berytech has been building a network of entrepreneurs in Lebanon focusing on science and technology, catalyzing networking and entrepreneurial skills to build durable, long-term, supportive networks, and providing resources that entrepreneurs in Lebanon can use to adapt to their unique sets of social, political and economic circumstances.
The 2020 Series
This year, Berytech is organizing Meetups powered by GIST with a series tackling five (5) major issues for Lebanon and the MENA region: Food Security in the MENA Region, Social Entrepreneurship in Lebanon, Renewable Energy, Solid Waste Management, and Raising a Generation of Coders.
The sessions are scheduled weekly, from 6:00pm to 7:30pm, and will host several experts, entrepreneurs and startup founders for each discussion. Find out more online here.
Series 1: Food Security In MENA / Building A Vital Safety Net For MENA Populations
Through this series, you will connect with international experts and entrepreneurs building the 4 pillars of food safety in a post COVID19 world: Availability, Access, Utilization and Stability. Throughout the 4 sessions of this series, you will harness their expertise and life experiences and learn how you can address, at a profit, the challenges of building a vital safety net for MENA populations.
Series 2: Social Entrepreneurship In Lebanon / A Light At The End Of The Tunnel
Through this series you will connect with international experts and entrepreneurs at the forefront of creating profitable models to address MENA and the world most pressing social and humanitarian challenges. Throughout the 2 sessions of this series, you will harness their expertise and life experiences and learn how you can exponentially expand your capacity to serve your society by building profitable expandable models.
Series 3: Renewable Energy / Free Electricity In A Country Of No Electricity
Through this series you will connect with international experts and entrepreneurs who are creating the future of energy harnessing, distribution, and consumptions. Throughout the 2 sessions of this series, you will harness their expertise and life experiences and learn how you can help, at a profit, governments serve their populations and individuals gain their independence from rigid inefficient infrastructures.
Series 4: Solid Waste Management / The Hidden Dollar In Lebanon
Through this series you will connect with international experts and entrepreneurs who are shaping how we consume, reuse, and recycle our day to day consumables. Throughout the 2 sessions of this series, you will harness their expertise and life experiences and learn how you can help, at a profit, decision makers serve the public while conserving natural resources, reduce importing of foreign goods and reverse the trends climate change.
Series 5: Raising A Generation Of Coders / The Future Of The Lebanese Workforce
Through this series you will connect with international experts and entrepreneurs at the forefront of thefourth industrial revolution. Throughout the 2 sessions of this series, you will harness their expertise and life experiences and learn how you can create startups that help governments and policy makers transition their economies into the 21 st century and provide badly needed employment for those affected by this revolution.
