Berytech, under EU-funded THE NEXT SOCIETY, is organizing Business Innovation Week 2020 – BIW2020, a disruptive event designed to bring together entrepreneurs, mentors, industry experts, investors and ecosystem leaders from Europe, the MENA region and Gulf countries to work on business expansion and explore investment opportunities.
BIW2020 will offer an intensive learning experience that includes coaching and mentoring, networking, one-to-one meetings, training and workshops by the best national and international mentors, and a full-day conference.
Three activities are organized during the BIW2020: BigBooster Lebanon, Power Meetings with Investors, and Scale-Up Innovation Day.
Scheduled on November 16-17, 2020 in collaboration with BigBooster Lyon, selected startups from 7 countries from the MENA region will participate in BigBooster Lebanon to go through an intensive 2-day bootcamp to work on their business models to access global markets, through the COVID-19 pandemic, and beyond.
The startups will be challenged to refine their global strategy, improve their international value proposition and pitch in front of experts, explore business development opportunities on the international scale, develop their customer acquisition strategy, develop an investor pitch deck to attract potential funding opportunities, implement crisis management and proactive methodologies to cope with any changes, leverage on new technologies and adapt strategies accordingly, meet and connect with top leaders from different sectors, and identify potential partnerships.
Power Meetings with Investors
Scheduled on November 18, 2020 in collaboration with European Business Angels Network, this one-day program will connect investment-ready startups, who have gone through the BigBooster Lebanon program, with investors and business angels from the EU-MENA region. Startup will be given the opportunity to pitch their venture to explore a potential funding opportunity.
The power meeting with investors will offer pitching and funding opportunities with investors and business angels, profitable and sustainable partnerships with innovative entrepreneurs and access to Europe’s leading early-stage investor network and to the investment scene in the EU-MENA region.
Euro-med Scale-up Innovation Day
Scheduled on November 19, 2020, the Euro-Med Scale-Up Innovation Day is an online regional event focused on supporting innovative and technology startups and SMEs from Lebanon and the Mediterranean Region in a post-pandemic world. Startups will gain knowledge, build connections, grab opportunities and get the exposure they need to scale their business to several international markets in a newly reshaped world.
The virtual event will expose startup founders to information on scaling their businesses, pivoting and adapting their business model and international strategy, accessing emerging markets in the Euro-Med region. It will also facilitate building international connections, accessing funding opportunities, implementing crisis management and agile methodologies, learning about latest trends, incorporating new technologies, adapting operational strategies, and exploring human behavior changes related to the fast-post-pandemic world.
Berytech is expecting more than 600 attendees from innovators, academics, industry professionals, startup ecosystem players, entrepreneurship supporters, and investors.
