Berytech signs MOU with Ministry of Economy & Trade to Support Lebanese SMEs

July 11, 2017 – Part of the Lebanese SME Forum held on July 12, 2017 in Biel, Berytech, represented by its Chairman and CEO Maroun Chammas signed a Memorandum Of Understanding with the Ministry of Economy and Trade (MOET), represented by HE Raed Khoury.

The agreement provides a framework for collaboration between the Ministry of Economy and Trade (MOET) & Berytech, on the implementation of a national strategy for small and medium enterprises through joining efforts with regard to the strategy’s initiatives to support businesses. In that scope the MOET and Berytech will collaborate around local and international potential programs, opportunities and  fruitful initiatives for the support of novel startups and SMEs in Lebanon.

The signing took place within the activities of the Lebanese SME Forum, organized by the Ministry of Economy and Trade as the first of a series of yearly thematic forums focusing on the SME sector, and involving relevant players on the national level. The overall goal of the activities is to enhance synergies between constituents of the SME environment in Lebanon in order to forge a better business environment.

Titled “Your Needs, Our Challenges”g09 ‘, the forum included live interventions and thought exchanges between key representatives from the public, private, and non-governmental sectors as well as entrepreneurs and SME managers. The objectives of this event are to identify a number of actionable and practical recommendations that the Ministry and other stakeholders will follow up on through new initiatives.
