Empowering Women And Promoting Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Berytech

Yes but no thank you! workshop at Berytech
Berytech remains committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion and to creating an empowering environment for its employees and entrepreneurs, regardless of their gender, race, or background.

Berytech acknowledges that Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) are essential in establishing a work environment that fosters a sense of belonging and enables all staff to flourish. Being part of a leading business support organization in Lebanon and a unique entrepreneurship hub, the Berytech team is committed to advancing and applying DEI in the organization as well as extending this culture to startups, SMEs, and all stakeholders that Berytech serves.

Berytech took the opportunity of Women’s Month to host two events that engaged its team members.

Nadine Mezher from UN Women

The first one, titled ‘Unconscious Gender Bias at the Workplace’ was a reflection session in collaboration with UN Women. The aim was to increase the team’s awareness of the unconscious biases that are inherent in the workplace, especially those encountered by women.

Nadine Mezher from UN Women and Ingrid Salloum from Berytech co-facilitated the session to encourage self-reflection and provide relevant examples from the business world and the startup ecosystem.

The second event was a webinar titled ‘Yes but No Thank You! Women in Business Leadership’ delivered by Christine Francis, a certified consultant specializing in Leadership, Culture transformation, and Change management.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are buzzwords that have been very popular in recent years. However, these concepts are not just trends. Christine shared key data on gender disparities in leadership positions.  She also touched on the role of the organization and the roles leaders play in promoting DEI culture internally and externally and how it can impact business, lead to more innovation, produce better results, and have higher employee engagement and retention rates.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)

The importance of Women’s Month is that it reminds us of the hurdles that women continue to face in both the workplace and society as a whole. Berytech has made it a core part of its mission to support and promote women’s entrepreneurship and leadership. By raising awareness of the challenges that women face, Berytech can inspire change not only for its stakeholders but also for a more inclusive and equitable society for all.

Berytech remains committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion and to creating an empowering environment for its employees and entrepreneurs, regardless of their gender, race, or background. In doing so, we can continue to promote innovation and creativity, which are fundamental to driving Berytech’s success.
