Fadi Naffah, Program Manager of Agrytech, joined other innovative speakers during the conference “Youth and Innovation for SDGs – Sustainable Water Management in the Mediterranean” part of EXCO 2019 in Rome – Italy.
Exco 2019 is a global expo dedicated to the innovative solutions provided by actors in sustainable development, whether national or international institutions, governments, financial institutions, and private sectors, in order to create new partnerships around the main actors willing to cooperate to find solutions for sustainable development.
During the panel presenting Mediterranean business incubators, Naffah presented Agrytech, as a role model for a twelve-month accelerator program in the MENA region, which can be replicated in other sectors or regions.
The Agrytech program is a program in Lebanon co-funded by the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Berytech to support youth and startups turning agri-food challenges into solutions in the MENA Region, through the Agrytech Accelerator, and supporting local SMEs in the agri-food sector through the agri-food innovation cluster- Qoot.
Fadi Naffah was joined by Yousri Helab, Operations Manager of Lab Ess in Tunisia, Lamis Qdemat-CEO and Founder of Water Heroes Game in Palestine, and Ataa Abouatalah – Founder and Technical Manager of Green Solutions in Morocco. The talk was moderated by Nick Difino – Food performer in Italy and organized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Directorate General for Development Cooperation & CIHEAM Bari.
