Startup Booster Track 2019 Competition Winners: TeensWhoCode, Live Love Recycle and Cloudsale

The Program is developed for early-stage startups in the MENA region who offer impact-driven solutions

For the third year in a row, Berytech partners with THE NEXT SOCIETY to offer Lebanese startups the opportunity of competing in the Start-up Booster Track allowing them to receive tailor-made support to help them go international and raise funds. 

Out of the 24 startups who applied, 10 were shortlisted to pitch to a jury who chose the 3 winners: TeensWhoCode, Live Love Recycle and Cloudsale. 

The Startup Booster Track program is developed for early-stage startups in the MENA region who offer impact-driven solutions in technology, food environment, energy, health and social impact. It offers the winners a one-year mentoring program that includes immersion in the European market, expansion of their networks, international business development missions and power-dinners with high level investors to raise funds. 

Recyclo, Moodfit and 209 Lebanese Wine won access to the 2017 edition while Bakala, Fabric Aid and Spike won the 2018 edition. 

Jury members of this edition included Danny Maalouly – Managing Partner at Flat6Labs, Joanna Abi Abdallah – Business Development Manager at Berytech, and Sami Abou Saab – CEO of Speed Lebanon. 

Startup Booster Track Finalists 2019

Pitching startups included Clickoship, CloudSale, Compost Baladi, Live Love Recycle, Nigma, OrganyClean, Smart-Budget, Speetra Design Studio, TeensWhoCode, and Vivere Diagnostics.

Clickoship, presented by Omar Merhi, is an online tool that creates a smooth integration between online retailing stores and online suppliers to automate all operational processes and tasks between them.

CloudSale, presented by Mohammad el Hoss, levels the playground between trading tycoons and small businesses in the hospitality industry. CloudSale supplies the HoReCa businesses with all their non-food related needs. Businesses can buy locally-sourced items such as cups, plates, cutlery, consumables, and equipment; easily, efficiently, and transparently, and have them delivered within 3 business days.

Compost Baladi, presented by Marc Aoun, provides entities at different scale with products and services that allow them to manage their waste effortlessly. Compost Baladi aims at empowering the society to turn any bio-waste, anywhere, into a bioresource.

Live Love Recycle, presented by Georges Bitar, is a recyclables collection service based on a mobile application where residents in Beirut can order on demand pick-ups for their recyclable garbage.  A driver on a bike will be present at the designated location in less than 30 minutes after the request is made, to pick-up the bags and drop them back to the nearest recycling facilities.

Nigma, presented by Alexis Maloux, has developed an exhaustive and customizable cryptocurrency compliance platform called e-NIGMA, allowing virtual asset service providers and banks to comply at a moderate cost with emerging anti-money-laundering/counter financing of terrorism regulation.

OrganyClean, presented by Mohammad Mikati, provides green and sustainable hygiene products, while contributing in the agro-waste management by turning them into new, innovative, and valuable cleaning products.

Smart-Budget, presented by Anas Almoalem, has created a virtual mobile assistant called “Genny” that simplifies the process of entering data into a budget planning application. 

Speetra Design Studio, presented by Sara Dsouki, is a design focused innovation firm, working at the convergence of architecture, product and fashion design specialized in digital design for 3D printing, an innovation that is eco-friendly, close to zero waste fashion.

TeensWhoCode, presented by Nour Atrissi, organizes cutting-edge tech summer camps for teens. Students enroll in the courses of their choice from building a robot to flying a drone, engage in physical activities like parkour and self-defense, visit tech companies and learn from founders & CEOs.

Vivere Diagnostics, presented by Tarek Itani, has developed Turista Kit®, a user-friendly kit addressed to travelers that allows them to test food before consumption to avoid cases of food-poisoning. The kit gives its user accurate results on food safety in approximately 3 minutes.
