TAQA snacks is a specialty wholesale snacking company that produces vegan cookies, maamoul, and natural energy bars. When TAQA snacks launched in 2016, local wholesome snacks were not available in the market. The objective was to provide the Lebanese consumer with healthy snacks that were made in Lebanon.
We talked to the TAQA team about the impact of the support received through their participation in the WEEL Project, funded by the European Union and implemented by Expertise France.
Growth And Impact
“We applied to the WEEL program because we are concentrating on increasing and building prominent visibility in the UAE market. We also used part of the funds for communication-related to offsetting our C02 footprint and accessing new packaging equipment that will help standardize our master cases.
Through the support we received from the program we were able to successfully deliver on our targets for the ‘Back to School’ Campaign with our distributor in the UAE; deliver results on our C02 emissions for 2022 and optimize our packaging line.
Our goal at TAQA is to start diversifying our product line as we gain more momentum in the export markets and reach stability in the local market despite the constant economic and social challenges.
About WEEL
WEEL is part of a larger programme, the EU for Women Empowerment (EU4WE), a 42-month programme (October 2019 – March 2023) funded by the European Union and implemented by Expertise France. It aims at promoting full and unconditional equality between men and women in Lebanon. The specific purpose of EU4WE is to reduce gender-based violence through women’s empowerment and enhance existing institutional mechanisms working towards gender equality.
