About The Program

SPARK, with Berytech as the implementing partner, is supporting Startups & MSMEs in Lebanon with a combination of capacity building and technical support to adapt to Covid-19. The program offers selected Startups & MSMEs a combination of webinars and coaching sessions, providing them with the support they need to  develop their projects.

Program Objectives

  • To prepare potential entrepreneurs to apply to regional programs and accelerators.
  • To support them in developing entrepreneurial skills.
  • To allow them to network and exchange with like-minded people who could potentially become team members.

Offered by SPARK, funded by the Islamic Development Bank and the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development, implemented by Berytech

SPARK develops higher education and entrepreneurship so that young ambitious people are empowered to lead their post-conflict societies into prosperity. In Lebanon, SPARK has been working to develop the capacity of Syrians and improve their access to higher education, economic empowerment, entrepreneurship and leadership development. Moreover, SPARK supports existing small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to grow and create new job opportunities. SPARK is a not-for-profit, non-political NGO with headquarters in Amsterdam and field offices in South East Europe, Africa, and the MENA region.

The one-on-one support will focus on the immediate needs of startups to sustain their work in digital platforms and/or at a distance environment due to the pandemic crisis, as well as regional insecurity and instability. The project will also support start-ups in the legal aspects of starting and growing a small business in Lebanon.

The priority will be given to Lebanese and/or Syrian led startups working in the essential fields. Each selected startup will be provided with customized legal and mentoring assistance based on assessments conducted with the startups in the program.

Track #2 | Advanced Startups

The purpose of the incubation is to help selected startups succeed and grow their business. The startups will receive support to accelerate, facilitate and secure their business through individualized mentoring and coaching, provision of workspace and equipment, technical support, additional workshops and/or trainings as well as networking opportunities.
